Set up a clean measurement
- Prop your phone upright. Lean it against a wall or bag in portrait, with the screen and front camera facing you, at roughly chest height.
- Stand 2 to 4 metres away. Your whole body needs to be visible, with space above your head for the jump.
- Step into the zone. The outlined zone shows where to stand, and spoken prompts tell you what to adjust, such as stepping back or getting your feet in view. The zone turns green when you are in position.
- Hold still for the 3-2-1. When the countdown finishes,JUMP! appears and recording starts. Jump whenever you are ready. There is no deadline.
- Land where you took off. Try to land with your legs as straight as they were at takeoff. Landing with deeply bent knees keeps you in the air longer and inflates the result.
Recording stops on its own a moment after you land. TrueVert then measures the jump on your phone and plays it back in slow motion, frozen at your peak.
Bright, even light, a stable phone and fitted clothing give the clearest measurement.
Troubleshooting
The countdown does not start
Stand inside the zone and follow the voice prompts. Your head and both feet need to be inside the zone, and moving around restarts the wait. Stand still and the countdown begins.
I cannot hear the voice prompts
Turn up your media volume and check that your phone is not in silent mode. The zone colours still show whether you are in position.
No jump was found
Jump within about 10 seconds of JUMP! appearing, do one clean jump, and keep your takeoff and landing inside the frame.
TrueVert says it is not sure
TrueVert only saves a result automatically when its checks agree. When they do not, it explains why in plain English. You can redo the jump, or choose to check it yourself: step through the video, confirm the frame where your feet leave the floor and the frame where they touch back down, and save that result.
The camera is unavailable
Check that TrueVert is allowed to use the camera. On iPhone, open Settings, then TrueVert. On Android, open Settings, then Apps, then TrueVert. Fully close and reopen the app afterwards. If the camera still does not appear, closing and reopening the app usually fixes it.
Your jumps
Replays and review
Saved jumps are listed on the home screen, with your personal best at the top. Tap a jump to replay it with the skeleton overlay, or jump straight to standing, takeoff, peak or landing. Choose Manually adjust to correct the takeoff and landing frames.
Units and estimated power
Switch between inches and centimetres with the toggle at the top of the home screen. Enter your body weight to also see estimated power for each jump. It is stored only on your phone.
Delete jumps
Press and hold a jump to start selecting, tap any others you want to remove, then chooseDelete. This removes those jumps and their videos. To remove all TrueVert data, delete the app from your phone. There is no account or cloud copy to delete.
Contact support
Email contact@truevert.app with your phone model, its iOS or Android version, and what happened. Please only attach a jump video if you are comfortable sharing it by email.
